Demolition from above

3 Pubs in a Row

We have demolished three pubs lately: all clearing the way for rejuvenation projects to enhance the local business in our favourite communities.

First was The Albert Hotel in Hastings, which came down in 2014, the site is now cleared and ready for redevelopment.

Secondly The Happy Tav in Havelock North had its farewell party in January and was swiftly dismantled and site cleared. The original 1960s building makes way for the Havelock North Village Exchange, a collection of retail, office, restaurant and hotel accommodation.

Out third pub is the Heretaunga Club on Hastings Street, which is a job in progress. We are clearing space for the new building for the Hastings RSA.
